Project Runway is Back for Season 6!

As you probably know by now, we here at SeenON! are obsessed with Project Runway (and it’s not just because we have all the designers’ clothes sent here to the office before they are auctioned off on ProjectRunway.com, though it helps!) That’s why we were so thrilled to hear that Project Runway is officially moving to Lifetime, meaning the already-filmed Season 6 will start to air sometime this summer! We’ll have more details shortly, but in the meantime, check out the Finale Galleries from Project Runway Season 5 - exclusively on Project Runway.com.

  1. Megan Says:

How is it possible that Season 6 is already filmed yet they just found out about having the show go forward?

  2. editor Says:

It’s because there was a lawsuit that happened after the show was already filming, which tied up airing for a while. They were deciding what network it would be on.

  3. K. Lynn Kubik Says:

This is a great show. Very talented people and you keep the petty crap to a minimum…Thank You.
HOWEVER, I am really pissed at the deceptive program schedule. I had all the details but can’t find them now but basically, approx. March 29 [Sat. ?] Project Runway was running a marathon that day. I watched for hours and then took a break and came back to see the Season end finale only to find out that instead the programming changed to “Make me a Supermodel”. That was bullshit!!! I still haven’t seen either of those shows scheduled again. And by the way…I saw at least 5 shows that day that I had never seen aired before. What do you do save them up and then run a marathon. That is also B.S. If you’re going to play these games could you at least show what Season and which episode you’re airing so people can get some continuity to where you’re at in the competition!!!

  4. T. Poe Says:

So, what network is showing this season 6? I have see absolutely no adverstisements for it. This is one of the two “reality” shows I see.
    Thank you

  5. Robert Says:

Project runway is a fixed show, check how Tim Gunn selected one of his former students (Robert Guest season 3) I do not think its fair to have a teacher selecting his students for the show (there were 4000 people for this open call) Robert Guest was a bad and boring designer, he had many chances on the show and was not out. another Tim Gunn former student was Emmett (season 2 with Santino) he was another boring with no facial expressions at all, but he made it because of Tim gunn, check their DVD and make your own judgement.

  6. jonah Says:

i just want a black designor to finally win!!

  7. editor Says:

Project Runway is going to be airing on Lifetime starting this summer. Stay tuned for exact airtimes!

  8. vanie Says:

when is the season 6 be aired exactly. i love the show and im so anxious to see it. thanks

  9. angelcrossing Says:

SO looking forward to season six! Can you send out email notices to let us know when it will air?

  10. kitkat Says:

love the show. love the drama. can’t wait for the next season to start. can we get email to let us know when asap

  11. Laurie Says:

I was reading these comments and saw one that wanted a “black” designer to win, finally. Does it really matter what color the winners are?? As far as I can see in all the episodes that I’ve watched, they have made the choices they feel are best. These are exactly the kind of comments that keep racism alive in our country. We need to stay away from such chatter….it only causes us to take backwards steps instead of taking those forward.
My daughter and I love the show. We watch the reruns, get the dvds off of the online rental site we belong to, and look forward to whenever the next season will air this summer.

  12. Ashley Says:

I agree it doesn’t matter the race, but Korto should have won last season… Leanne’s was a goos collection, but Korto’s was the best!

  13. Emily Says:

I can’t wait until the new season…I heard they filmed it in FIDM in LA. So no New York background this season i guess.

  14. Marilyn Says:

i just want the judges to be fair. Leanne should not have won last season. Korto was the best designer in the FINALE. I have watched the show and I thought the judges were looking for more than a one noter. It was clearly obvious that Leanne was a great one note designer in the finale & Korto gave us great in all areas. Did the judges have a problem with Korto’s african culture designs? I am black and don’t care for the african culture designs to wear however, they are still beautiful. Let’s keep it fair Judges your true colors are about to show. Why the show don’t allow the viewers to judge the finale, we are the future buyers?

  15. Rosa Linda Salazar Says:

I would like to know when season six will start, I do not want to miss an episode. I love this show.

  16. dancecostumer Says:

I agree Korto had beautiful designs but winning on the show isn’t always a guarantee for success. Many of the designers from the show who didn’t win have ended up being more successful than the “winner”. I am sure Korto will now have many opportunities.

  17. Steffi Says:

This whole thing is taking so long that I have lost interest. The result is that I am, this very day, setting my DVR for the new BRAVO premiere “The Fashion Show”. It won’t be the same without Heidi and the crew, but I feel let down by all of the games that these networks play. Catch you on the flip side whenever you get serious about Project Runway airing.

  18. Tony Says:

I am so happy that the season 6 will finally start. I have been reading some of the comments on this page. I don’t understand how someone could think that this show is fixed. That is so silly. I hold Tim Gunn in the highest respect for the job he is doing with this show. I dont think any of his students that were on the show got any type of special treatment or advances. If you do maybe you should not be watching a show that you think is a fixed show. But the rest of us that love the show will be waiting to here when it will start showing again.

  19. Christian Leonata Says:

i’m a huge fans of project runway, yet i have to accept the fact that i lived in indonesia and not in america….so for me it’s just a great disappointment to see that the rules to be one of the cast member of project runway( i saw the application form for season 7)is to be an american citizen or a resident of the usa,so i guess that it will be great if the producers woul consider to make an international season, which allow the designers from all around the world to compete……..now that’s gonna be a huge show..

  20. Aon Says:

I watch project runway at Thailand. I love KENLY .She is very pretty.I dislike persons who is hate her.

  21. Hallie Says:

Look forward to the next season. Wish Heidi didn’t act so stupid, the dumb model role, but whatever. Re: a black desgner to win, of the last 4 remaining, there were 2 black contestants. Leanne won because her stuff was in credible. Korto’s work was box dress after box dress, yuk. Look forward to some really good designers as the Fashion Show with Mirhazi sucks.

  22. mj Says:

I always watch the show-never skipped an episode. Though people discuss how the judges are hard, they all say vaulable and harsh truths of what the fashion world likes and accepts, and what won’t work.

  23. lisa Says:

Did project runway get sued by one of contestants and if so what season were they from?

  24. Marcel Says:

Christian Leonata: Thats a great idea!!!!

  25. angelcrossing Says:

I read recently that Season six will air August 1.

  26. Arteacherz Says:

Has anyone seen the new Project Runway replacement that Bravo has been airing? Its called The Fashion Show. Its just not the same! I miss Project Runway and cant wait for it to start, again!

  27. k is delighted Says:

yes it would be nice to know more about when season six would be airing, like an exact date and time. i absolutely LOVE project runway, i was very disappointed when they said that it would end with season five….thank you for continueing project runway thats how me and mom spend time together!

  28. Nicole Says:

I just saw a commerical last night saying that season 6 will be on the Lifttime channel, not Bravo.

  29. Nicole Says:

    Sorry, lifetime channel

  30. Cassie Says:

I agree that Korto had the most innovative and beautiful collection, but then I often disagree with the choices the judges make in eliminating people. I don’t think they should eliminate someone based on one design on one show, but should look at their entire work and how they are improving and growing through the weeks. For instance, Sweet Pea was one of the least talented people on the entire season and yet she was in the final 5 — it just amazed me, and she wasn’t that bright either.

  31. angelcrossing Says:

Oops, sorry, I got the date wrong. Season six will begin on August 20 on Lifetime.

  32. Linda Says:

I have to say that if Kenley won I would never have watched to show again. What a sociopathic brat. I’ve seen her type before and they do not care about anyone or anything but they’re own goals. I had trouble deciding between Korto and Leanne, they were both fabulous - apples and oranges in they’re styles but fabulous. I don’t know how the judges did it. I hope Korto does well, I’m sure she will.

  33. roxann Says:

Project Runway is by far the best show on television. Allthough I wish you had stayed on Bravo, Iwill follow anywhere you go. When will the premier be of the new season? The new” fashion show” on Bravo is awful. It is like a bad spoof of Project Runway. It’s dark, like it was filmed in a barn. You don’t get to really meet the so-called designers or get to know them. Most of them can’t even sew! They work in groups. There is no mentor, like Tim Gunn. You don’t get to see them shop for material. You don’t get to see where they stay. Their designs are hard to see and what you can see is terrible. Not one of those designers would have made it on to Project Runway. It doesn’t have the proffessional feel of your show, It’s tacky. The designers have no professionalism. They seem like people that were grabbed up off the streets. The whole show is a joke. Please hurry back onto tv. I miss you all, Heidi, Tim, Nina, Micheal and designers. You don’t even get to meet the models on Fashion Show or see hair and make-up. Every PR fan is waiting for the beginning of a new season and never wants to have to wait again like this. Please tell Isaac and Kelly to stop!!

  34. roxann Says:

    Project Runway Please Hurry!

  35. Shawn Martin Says:

I am so happy it will be back- I jsut hope that the switch from Bravo to lifetime won’t result in any changes to the show. Bravo has all the best reality shows, although the new Fashion show (I guess meant to replace Project Runway) has been a bit of a disaappointment - the contestants are nowhere near as talented, and no Tim Gunn!!!

  36. Elizabeth Says:

About freaking time! Let’s get on with it!

I love Korto. She actually made clothes for real people, not clothes that only look good in sample sizes!

  37. Zippy Says:

Thanks for the update for the listing! The commercials are driving me bonkers with teasing me…

    LIFETIME 8/20/09!!!! SEASON 6.

  38. penelope Says:

when can we get a look at the new designers?
Bravo posted bios before the season aired.
